You guys! It is Greek Easter this weekend. Well, really it is Orthodox Easter, but I have grown up calling it Greek Easter...you know...due to the fact that I am Greek (and some other stuff too...thanks, Dad!). Our Easters are pretty out of hand. There are over 100 people coming! My grandmother doesn't throw a big Easter party every year, but when she does...EVERYONE comes. Have you ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It's like that. There will be lamb on a spit, all types of Greek food, maybe some Greek dancing....and definitely some Greek singing. Speaking of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I saw the 2nd one last weekend. It wasn't as good as the first, but I still loved it. I laughed and I cried (at parts that weren't even sad!) all due to the fact that this movie reminds me so much of my crazy family. I wouldn't trade them for anything!
Tomorrow night the Highlands Historical Society (our neighbors across the street) will be having their annual fundraiser. We have participated every year for the last 3 years (they started this event in 2014), and it's a really nice evening! Robert, our sales rep, will be there tomorrow night from 5-7PM pouring glasses of our Cabernet Franc and our Chardonnay. I am sad to say that this is the first time since the event began that I will not be there representing Karamoor, but the family pre-Easter party is at my parent's house and I have got to help with that. Our friends over at Gypsy Blu in Ambler have been featuring us quite a bit in many of their events. Last night, they had an event that was to help out the Edgewood Preserve. They had a special pre fixe menu that could be ordered on its own or paired alongside our wines. What a great concept! And what great neighbors! They pour all of our wines by the glass all the time, so if you are ever in Ambler, you should definitely stop into their restaurant for some of their awesome food and a glass of our wine. On Tuesday of next week, we will be down at the Linc for the Philadelphia Magazine Food & Wine Festival. This will be the 4th year that we have taken part in this event and it is always a good one. There is great food and great wines to sample from all over the world. If you are interested in buying tickets, here is the link: http://www.phillymag.com/wineandfoodfest/tickets/. At the beginning of August, we will be doing a ticketed event with the Elmwood Park Zoo. As more information becomes available on this event, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be sharing it with you. You know how much I love this little zoo (and their awesome zipline course).
We have really been trying to do more work with local businesses. We do have a minimum order requirement for these (because we have very limited staff), but we are looking to expand our relationships with other business owners in the area. If you are wanting to do an open house, an employee appreciation party, or a grand opening, please do not hesitate to reach out. We will be happy to come, support and help pour our products, and talk about who Karamoor is. Keep us in mind!
I think those are all the events that I have to tell you about for now. We don't have any tastings currently scheduled with the PLCB stores, but we should be getting something on the calendar for June. As soon as I know, you will know! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. I am off to make some Greek cookies (Koulouria), and a few other things for Mom's party tomorrow night. Until next time...
