The San Diego International Wine Competition results....are IN!

Did you know that I managed to not get sick for literally a whole year?  Not with wedding stress from last year.  Not from work stress.  Not from sitting in a hallway at work where every single person would pass by coughing all over the place.  Well, my luck has run out.  I am pretty sure that there were a few people that were plotting against me.  Most noteably, my own mother.  Did you know that she raised 2 children and always told us to cover our mouths when we coughed?  She's been sick, and, like magic, she seems to forget that very important rule that she taught us at a young age.  She doesn't cover her mouth around me.  I think it has to do with the fact that I am always lecturing her on her vegetable and water intake.  "If you ate more vegetables and drank more water, you probably wouldn't be sick right now."  So, I think that she planned this.  Right when she was starting to get sick, she brought me a cupcake (my Achilles heel) and offered to split it with me.  I had been painting the walls of the closet, so she brought it over to me and forked a little of it into my mouth while I was covered in paint.  LITTLE did I know...she had eaten off that fork with her sick germs.  So...like I said.  She has been trying to prove to me for weeks that my water and vegetable intake can not thwart off her germs forever.  And, as the old saying goes, "your mother is always right"....even though in this case she really had to pull out all the stops to be right....

So, aside from me being sick, I actually do have some good news to share.  It is this:

See!  I told you it was good news.  Look at that pretty little lady!  How gorgeous is she?  We decided to release her early...just in time for (hopefully) warmer weather to start coming around.  PS.  Did you see that earlier this week they had forecasted 3-5 inches of snow for tomorrow?  I was like....what.  the.  heck.  But then also, this morning while I was getting ready for work, I looked out the window and there were snowflakes coming down.  But now it is supposed to be 60 degrees today.  WHAT IS UP WITH THIS WEATHER?!  Anyway, when warm weather does decide to show its face, you are going to want a case or two of this stuff to enjoy with it.  We made around 350 cases of it and it is flying already (in 6 restaurants as of yesterday), so...get it while it lasts!

Another bit of good news that we received this morning is that the results are in from the San Diego International Wine Competition!  We entered our 2015 Meritage, our 2015 Cabernet Franc, our 2015 Chardonnay, and our 2015 Merlot.  ALL OF THEM TOOK SILVERS!  Wahoo!  That is so great.  You should see the competition that they were up against out there.  We are so unbelievably proud of how they did.  The 2015 reds will be added to the website on Monday of next week - I will send out an email to let everyone know when they are live.

A little heads up; we are down to our last pallet of 2013 Merlot, and 2014 Merlot is sold out.  We also only have 4 cases remaining of our 2014 Barrel Select Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 cases remaining of our 2014 Petit Verdot, and 10 cases remaining of our 2010 Reserve Merlot.  Things have really been flying off the shelves!

This weekend is Greek Easter!  My grandparents are having a big shindig here at Karamoor with like 75 of our closest relatives and friends.  It should be a great time....lamb on a spit, wine, family, and friends.  What more could you ask for?!  I hope that you have a great weekend...the weather does not look as good as it was last weekend, that's for sure.  You will be happy to know that Matt and I finally did some yardwork and got things so that they looked semi-presentable.  Until next time....
